Island Dreams Music is a multicultural company of highly creative professional musicians based in Chicago. They offer 6 ensembles – from 1-10 pieces – providing clients with the variety and flexibility to tailor fit the music to best enhance the specific needs and theme of their event.

Island Dreams Music have entertained a wide range of clients since their inception in 1989. From numerous Fortune 500 companies; to prominent associations and private clubs; to social celebrations of all kinds.

Group members have performed and/or recorded with Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Tito Puente, James Brown, The Isley Brothers and many other significant artists.

Their unique brand of Live Music is distinguished by a dynamic and JOYFUL SOUND that leaves people FEELING GOOD. Which is how their tagline was born: “The Sound of Happiness”

Lucho Castilla

Multi-instrumentalist/composer Lucho Castilla (saxophone, flute, steel drum) is the founder and musical director of Island Dreams Music. He draws from a musically rich and diverse background starting with his experience performing and touring with legendary Chicago Soul/R&B singer Otis Clay.

He has also performed with musical ensembles from Brazil, Haiti, Zimbabwe, and Columbia — in addition to multiple jazz, blues, and gospel ensembles. His first professional gigs were playing Salsa on the South Side of Chicago.

He is known for his instrumental creativity and for the energetic and joyous way he leads all of his ensembles. Lucho believes passionately in the personal and life enhancing benefits of Live Music and is dedicated to providing those for the audiences he performs for.
